I was a nanny for 3 years , I worked in a middle school for 6 yrs, and I was a teacher's assistant for about 1-2 years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is making a difference and impact on the child you're working with. It's something about the child not wanting you to leave or wanting you to come back that feels amazing. It let you know that not only are you doing an amazing job, but it's a moment within the child that won't be forgotten either. I personally love seeing smiles when I work with the children and families. Parents need a break sometimes as well and if that's something that I can provide? I'd do it a million times over!

I've worked with children with Autism and ADHD

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was told that a mother's non verbal autistic son wasn't fond of many adults. While working with him, I took the patience to get to know him and move at a pace he was comfortable with. One day, I came over to babysit and he came over to me, sat on my lap and hugged me. The mother and I were both shocked, but it was the most beautiful and heartfelt experiences I will never forget.
