When I was babysitting for a family friend, I had been interacting with this little one year old girl who had been very shy and quiet, barely even smiling. One day while we were in the backyard, she pointed to the brick wall and asked "what's this". That was the first time I had heard her talk and it was so rewarding to finally get to know her more.
