More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Every summer from 2018 to 2020 I was the administrator of Georgians at Home Daycare. I would help prep and serve meals to kids from ages 2-12. While also creating and engaging in activities suitable for all ages. I would assist with potty training, nap time, texting parents, recess, birthdays, movie time, etc.
Since August 2021 I've been a leader for middle school and high school kids at Discovery Church. I get into personal conversations with students and their parents. A lot of conflict management is required to keep the atmosphere stable and welcoming.
I have a little cousin I've been taking care of every other weekend since she was 2. We prioritize outdoor activity such as the park or pool or walks to help her relax when it's dinner and bath time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading books, playing with chalk, going on the swing, bath time, and walking on trails.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being adaptable and able to communicate is a huge part of committing to long-term/short-term relationship with families. People change all the time no matter the age. Circumstances change all the time whether you're in control or not. So to be able to adapt and not be stuck on one solution or one perspective, it helps make room for everyone to have enough trust to communicate to one another.
My experience with special needs children...
At Georgina's at Home Daycare, we had a two boys who were on the spectrum one boy was 4 years old and the other was 5 years old. Luckily my experience with them was pretty smooth by relating with them. One of them, for example, we would incorporate toy story into hard tasks such as sharing and talking to other kids. I would say "Woody had friends that weren't exactly like him either" or "Jessie had a hard time making friends too but she was brave and got to know Woody and Buzz." And it didn't make him get up and go run to the other kids all happy but it did help him be more open and relaxed when other kids talked to him.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There was a time at middle school camp for my church I was making sure all of my 8 students ( 6th grade girls ) were getting up on time in the morning. Now 5 girls were in one room and 3 girls and I were in another room. So I would get up extra early so that there was time for me to keep track of both rooms. But this particular morning, was extra special because when I went to go check on my girls next door I would open the blinds and turn on all the lights including the bathroom. So when I went in the bathroom I saw one of the girls knocked out on the toilet with toilet paper in her hand. Meaning she fell asleep on the toilet. I closed the door and started laughing uncontrollably ( on the inside, because I didn't want the other girls to laugh and potentially make her feel embarrassed ). So then I knocked and opened the door again and asked her if she was ok and she just gave me a blank stare and squinting her eyes and said "yes...". Then I left because I needed to laugh that bad.

Babysitter Available in Orlando, FL: Jordan W.
I am a 23 year old young woman in Orlando with experience in nannying young children (4-12), as well as being a day time camp counselor for preschool-1st grade age children. I have experience with mid-high functioning autistic children and consider myself patient and understanding to children's individual needs. I do have boundaries that I will enforce with children (ie "No means no"), but I understand that child care is full of pivots and adapting to day to day challenges. I love to be playful with children, as well as enrich them with learning opportunities whenever possible. I am looking for a family that aligns with my values and respects me as a care taker for their children!
