A little bit about me

I’m Caroline! I’m 26 years old, new to the Chicago area, and someone who loves working with children. I have 3 years of experience working as an elementary school substitute teacher, as well as several years of experience as the neighborhood babysitter— since I was in middle school! I’ve worked mostly with children ages 4-10, but am comfortable with littler ones! I can change diapers, do school drop offs, entertain a toddler, or simply keep company with an older kid “too cool” for a babysitter/nanny. Whatever you need!
I earned my bachelor’s degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, and my Master’s in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University.

**I am not currently CPR/First Aid certified, but have been in the past year— it just recently expired. I am working to get certified again!

I have been a substitute teacher in elementary schools for 3 years, and have been the “neighborhood babysitter” since I was in middle school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to be creative! Arts and crafts time is one of my favorites. I also love to read with children (doing voices for the characters is my specialty) and encourage their imaginations through playtime— whether with dolls, or building legos! I’ll adapt to and enjoy any interest a kid has :)

My experience with special needs children...

I have a younger brother on the autism spectrum, with whom I have spent much time bonding and learning about how best to adapt to his needs. I have also worked with special needs children (ADHD, autism spectrum) in classroom settings.
