To me the most important part about being a nanny is consistency. From day one I set standards and routines. That doesn’t mean I don’t give grace, but I also don’t allow myself to be walked over. I think it very important to teach kids that following through with your words and actions is vital.

My favorite moment as a nanny was when my two nanny kids (at the time) both decided to start licking me. They thought it was so funny and just laughed as I was playfully fighting them off. In the moment, I was kinda grossed out and did not want to be licked, but looking back I see how much they genuinely love and trust me.
