A little bit about me

I am a stay-at-home of 4 kids (2 girls + 2 boys). I have been a stay-at-home mom for almost 19 years... that being said my kids can all drive themselves and don't need me as much anymore. I have raised 4 smart, successful, social, happy kids. I don't like screens, I read a lot, I like kids to be outside, be given moments to be creative & yes be bored (thats when they think of creative things to do ;) I have lots of rules & believe in routine (best for kids & parents/nanny ;) My personal motto in raising kids is be strict in beginning younger years and ease up as they get older. This is as much an interview of you to me as it is an interview of me to you as I don't want to do the work of getting kids to enjoy their day w/o screens and then the parent(s) give them screens at night and on weekends. I am not for everyone but these are imperative for me to do a good job raising smart, confident, social kids.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have raised my own 4 kids under 5 since they were born, I also worked in the local preschool as well as part time for blue valley school district. In the past I have nanny-ed an infant for just under a year and volunteered often at my children's elementary school - when they were younger- to read to the kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to the park, routines consisting of: music, reading, play-time, outside time, healthy snack time, light chore time (having them learn to clean up their rooms, toys, put their clothes away, take care of a pet etc.)

The most important part about being a nanny...

safety (obviously) but besides that: my job as a nanny is to help create confident, smart, joyful, responsible future adults.

Just reading to the kids... as simple as that. I love seeing their wheels in their heads turn while listening or getting excited to read another book.
