More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Nanny for families over the last 5yrs. Prior to that have a graduate degree in human services and am well versed in the stages of the various ages during childhood development. I have worked collaboratively with children and families in many educational ways including facilitating a Summer Expressive Arts Camp for Kids for which I had created the curriculum. I have also been a yoga teacher for many many years and enjoyed offering afterschool silly stretch and yoga programs for the Newburyport Elementary Aftershool Programs plus, I taught a very successful Prenatal, and Mommy&Baby Yoga Program that was so precious and nurturing.

I love being helpful, reliable, and supportive. I am a natural teacher, and a very conscientious communicator when it comes to connecting with the parents I have worked. When I work as a nanny for a family I see myself as part of your team.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Creating an age appropriate daily schedule that incorporates learning through play; expressive movement; singing; dancing; identifying colors, shapes; counting; ABC’s; reading; music, rhythms, coping sounds; speech, inflection, phonics, pronouncing; use of pretending and mimicing to teach; body awareness, body parts and orientation of body and movements ie- fast/slow, up/down, under, over; animals+sounds they make; nature awareness; how to dress and undress; bathing self; eating using utensils; potty training; puzzles; legos; coloring; learning name and writing name; etc... 😃

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children within the asburgers/autism spectrum and feel completely comfortable working in situations with kids who have developmental delays. This is inpart due to the fact that I grew up adoring my younger brother who is diagnosed with autism. I also have a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology and have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with kids and adults who have diagnosis’s that have caused them to have various developmental delays.
