More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Although I’m currently 17 (turning 18 soon), I’ve gained valuable hands-on experience caring for children of all ages. I currently work as a live-in nanny for a sweet 4½-month-old baby boy, providing full-time infant care. Throughout high school, I also volunteered at several children’s summer camps and at MiraVia, a center that supports single mothers and their children. In addition, growing up in a large family and helping care for my many nieces and nephews has given me years of practical childcare experience.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Since I was around 11 years old, I’ve loved spending time with my nieces and nephews and creating fun, meaningful experiences with them. Some of my favorite activities include going on walks to explore nature, baking together (whether it’s teaching them how to crack an egg or stir the batter), coloring and encouraging their creativity, reading books, and finding fun, age-appropriate games. I enjoy activities that are both engaging and help children learn, build confidence, and make happy memories.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship where children feel safe, loved, and understood. I love watching how babies and young children think, learn, and discover the world around them. Their curiosity and excitement are contagious, and it’s a privilege to be part of their everyday adventures while helping them grow with patience, encouragement, and kindness.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment has been helping the baby I currently care for successfully transition to taking a bottle. At first, every feeding was a struggle—he would cry, tense up, and refuse it. One day, I put on some Julie London music, sat him on my lap, and calmly talked to him while offering the bottle. He relaxed, looked up at me with the sweetest smile, and finished it. Since then, bottle feedings have become so much easier. It was such a rewarding reminder that every child is different, and sometimes all they need is a little patience, comfort, and consistency.
