A little bit about me

My name is Cecilia Oriente, you can call me Ceci(pronounced CC). I have worked the past couple of months at a daycare in Lemont. At the age of 14, I started babysitting for families in my neighborhood as well as family members, ages ranging from 6months-9years. At the age of 9, my mom had my two little brothers and I have helped care for them since. I have grown up around kids and plan on going to JJC as a part-time student to expand my knowledge of child development, and social and emotional education in young children. I have also taken 2 classes on Child Development in High School at Lockport, along with 2 classes on Child Guide and Care, and attended as a student teacher in the Lockport Petite Porter Preschool.

I enjoy doing arts and crafts with children. My favorite thing to do is see how their imagination and thought process works. I also enjoy helping teach children skills such as cooking and baking(at the appropriate skill level for their age)

I feel the most important part about being a nanny is finding where you connect with the kids most and building a strong connection with the children based on that. A Nanny is supposed to be a trusted adult in a child's life, if the child cannot trust you, there will be no bond with them.
