More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am an au pair since October 2020 where I take care of four kids full time. That means up to 45 hours a week.
As mentioned previously, I love skiing. As addition, I was a coach and tutor at a sleep away ski camp for 1 week every year at around Easter.
I spent a lot of my school breaks (we didn’t have summer break, we had a lot 2 week breaks during the year) at my god moms house. She and her husband have 6 children (4 boys, 2 girls) and I watched them while she was either working, organizing the attic, kids clothes, etc.
During the week, I often watched two girls in the neighborhood while their parents were out for date night, had a work meeting or just when they needed childcare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love backing and cooking with the kids. It is a big hobby of mine, so I love sharing that with the kids. I enjoy drawing, doing crafts or just to go outside on a walk. I need that, to take a break and get some fresh air and hopefully sunshine:) and sometimes I just love to stay in and have a great playful day inside, especially when it feels like the world goes down because it’s so rainy and stormy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
They advertise the au pair program of being ‘a big sister’. Even though I didn’t have that experience, I really appreciated being part of the family. Not like a big sister but also not like an employee.
But for me the most important part is trust, from both sides. Obviously parents trust a nanny a lot, kids are their most precious treasure ever!
I was always glad that when I was in charge and the kids asked one of the parents e.g. for candy or iPad time, they always asked the kids to go to see me. Most of the time the parents just came out of the office and had no idea what the kids already did or not. So that made it a lot easier for me not only to stay an authoritarian care giver.

My experience with special needs children...
I unfortunately don’t have any experience with special needs children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A current favorite moment of mine is when the now baby said my name for the first time. It was so extra special and then she was running to the door to give me a big hug. That melted my heart.
But for me some of the most rewarding moments are when the kid does something I tried to teach for so long. I was practicing with my five year old host girl to write her name for so long. And at some point she just did it. Those are some of my favorite moments I absolutely love:)
