The most important part about being a nanny...
Is to protect the family's time together. By helping with the children, the housekeeping, and the grocery shopping and meal prep. When all these things align, the family has more time!
My experience with special needs children...
My nephew is disabled. He's autistic, legally blind, and has poor motor skills. I have known him his whole life and I have been his caretaker and representative payee for over 15 years (although only since adulthood). He's still very childlike at 38 years old, if that counts for anything.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When the kids I was nannying remembered my 30th birthday and gave me a sweet little stuffy with a hand-made and heart-felt card.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Portland, OR: Tyler O.
Hi! My name is Tyler! I love being a sitter because I like to help out when I can, and become an influence in a child's life. I am the oldest grandchild in my family with made me the automatic babysitter growing up. Spending time with my little cousins never felt like a job as I always kept things fun whether it be through creative or outdoor activities. I also worked for a neighborhood recreation center where I was an after-school and summer camp counselor. This experience also taught me how to help out with many kids at a time and problem resolution skills while maintaining a clean and safe environment. I am both first-aid and CPR certified and take pride in keeping environments safe. I am always hyper-aware in public environments and prioritize safety. I prioritize communication and time management. I also have my own car, so running errands and driving around is not a problem!

I am so excited to be starting a new chapter in my childcare career. Leaving teaching at a school is a bittersweet feeling, as I've built so many beautiful relationships with the children and families I've worked with. Over my years teaching, I've worked hard to learn everything I can about how to best nourish a children's growing mind. I have vast experience working with babies as young as 2 months old and as old as 3. I am ready to dedicate my care to an individual child and family. I absolutely love being a trusted loved one to sweet little ones, and find building secure attachments to be extremely rewarding for all parties. I love playing, reading, singing, and going on adventures with kids. I have an expansive knowledge of baby sign language and find it a beautiful way to communicate with growing minds. I've been planning and carrying out engaging and educational projects on a daily basis. It's an incredible joy to watch a young child experience our world for the very first time!
