"Chandler is incredibly creative. She infused everything she did with her own special sense of humor and intelligence. She worked with us as a coach and a camp counselor and developed the most loyal cohort of kids that today, three to four years later, they still ask about her and want her to work with them again. And these kids are now teens in high school! They kids loved her, and she loved them. The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a support for the family as a whole not just the children. I grew up with a mom that carried a lot of the load when it came to childcare and running the household so I know what it's like to juggle everything with little support. First and foremost a nanny should be a trusted and reliable person to the children cared for, but also the parents.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't have much hands on experience with special needs children but I worked in a speech/physical/occupational therapy clinic and was raised by a physical therapist that works with children on the spectrum, down syndrome, etc. so I'm familiar with their needs and I'm 100% comfortable working with a special needs child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have a special place in my heart for the girls I worked with last. We did art lessons every week and I still have a few of the things we made decorating my studio. Their excitement for learning and developing their art skills was such a joy to be around.
