Alongside my professional experience with children, I grew up babysitting the many children in my extended family and of the friends in our community. I also took many opportunities within my church as a volunteer of youth group classes, camps, and events for children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My approach for spending time with infants and children is with a “learning through play” philosophy. I simply enjoy doing whatever will most productively engage the child(ren) I’m with. I believe that engaged children are happy and healthy children. I’ll provide a structured balance of mentally stimulating indoor play, including reading, puzzles, imaginary and sensory play, etc, with outdoor activities and exploration. (And of course, snuggles too!)
The most important part about being a nanny...
It certainly does take a village! As a Nanny, I take great pride and responsibility in my role being an influence on the young and impressionable minds of children. I enjoy being of aid to families because I believe that society is created first in the home with the children, because they are the future, and it is our responsibility as the ones who care for them to keep them safe and healthy, give them love, and nurture their growth and learning as people.
