Hello! I'm Charlotte. I am an experienced childcare provider and educator that is finding my way back to the field after a stint as a manager at a non-profit. I am high-energy, ambitious, and dedicate 100% of myself to my work, so I decided to dedicate that 100% to something more fulfilling to me--working with kids!

Some logistical notes:

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

- From [phone number hidden] I was a nanny in Edinburgh, UK. I spent 5 days a week with my family mornings and afternoons/evenings. Mornings involved waking the kids up, getting them ready for school, making breakfast, packing lunches, and walking them to school. Afternoons/evenings involved picking the kids up from school, prepping snacks, assisting with homework, cooking dinner, and when time allowed, taking kids on outings. Occassionally I worked late nights, as well.
-Museum Educator positions at the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, NY, the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, and Egan Maritime Institute in Nantucket, MA. These positions involved developing and leading learning experienced targeted at everyone from toddlers to adults.
- Extensive intermittent babysitting experience with children ranging from age 0-14, including those with special needs. These included temporary live-in situations.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

- Arts and crafts are always my number one pick. The options are limitless, and sparking creativity empowers children in ways that they will carry with them for the rest of their life.
- Cooperative games and puzzles. Get that brain moving, and make it fun! And more importantly, teach kids how to how to work with one another.
- Exploring new places! Set your sights on a route and a destination, and see what you can find along the way. Perhaps an interesting tree you've seen before, or a neighbor you haven't said hello to in a while...either way, introducing children to diverse environments builds confidence and curiosity.

My experience with special needs children...

In my various education positions I have worked with hundred of kids from every background imaginable, including those with special needs, learning disabilities, autism spectrum diagnoses, mobility limitations, and behavioral concerns. This is how I found my philosophy as an educator and childcare provider: that one size never fits all, and you should never assume you know what someone wants or needs, special needs or not! You have as much to learn from each child you work with as they have to learn from you, so I approach every new experience with an open mind and the adaptability to meet a child where they are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Halloween 2022 I got to help the two young girls I cared for get their costumes ready and take them trick-or-treating! As mundane as it may seem, it was that experience that solidified my aspirations to work with kids in the long-term. Halloween as an young adult is so focused on partying and not enough on the spirit of the holiday. Now I try to spend all of my Halloweens with my little cousins!
