A little bit about me

Hi, I am a retired public school teacher and an empty nester. I’ve fell in love with the North Alabama area when I lived here during my college years. I have lived in Tennessee throughout my life but have purchased a home in Florence and I am very excited to be able to back in the area.
I absolutely love children and have a great relationship with them. I love reading books to all children, even infants. As children grow I also love to help and encourage them to use their imagination. . Language development comes through hearing, seeing, listening, and experiencing the world around them. It is through this process that children learn to develop their vocabulary, and knowledge of how to communicate effectively. Social skills are developed , learning is fun, and the ability to connect with others is a great thing to have in the future.
I have 2 adult daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, and 2 precious grandsons. I would love to have the opportunity to care for your child.

In addition to my 30+years as a teacher, I have cared for children in the church nursery, my own church and for special events at other churches. I have provided after school tutoring , assisted with youth summer camps, coached
all ages of cheerleaders, and babysat for friends and family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

As I previously stated , I enjoy reading to children and creating activities to do with them that allow the books to come to life. I enjoy puzzles, old fashioned board games, legos, play dough, going on age appropriate scavenger hunts and /treasure hunting,. I love it when children have fun and discover new things.

I believe the most important part about being a nanny is actually a set of qualities that are essential for the success of the position: genuine love for the children and their well being, attentiveness, maturity, good communication skills, nurturing, consistency , ability to abide by the rules of the home , respectful , honest and lastly but equally important a good sense of humor.
