A little bit about me

Hi! My name is chelsea! I’ve been working in childcare for five years now. I am looking for something a little closer to home. My boyfriend and I moved to Panama City about a year ago but I still work at a private Christian daycare in Defuniak Springs. We love being in nature, swimming, hiking, beach days, and enjoying times with friends. I nannied three wonderful girls (two 2 year olds & 1 one year old) for a year, when the mother decided to be a stay at home mom after having her 4th child. I still have a great relationship with the family and see them often. Along with caring for your child/children, I am also here to help around the home! This includes organizing/tidying up, laundry, dishes, running errands, cooking, etc. I am CPR certified and have my first aid license (it gets renewed every 2 years). I look forward to finding another family to connect with and creating a long lasting relationship of trust and joy.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a nanny for one year. I have been a lead preschool teacher in a one year old classroom and two year old classroom. Currently, I am a preschool aid at a private school!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love sensory activities, especially with younger children, anything messy that they can have fun in (it’s a plus if it’s easy to clean up haha). I also enjoy doing puzzles and manipulative toys. It’s always a joy to see a child’s face light up when they put a piece in the right spot or put something together that matches.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love helping the kids grow in a loving and safe environment. It’s so important to support kids in their learning and creativity.

My experience with special needs children...

Working in a daycare, I have had to work with children who are on the spectrum for autism or other disorders. I do not have any specific training experience with it, but I am always open to learn!

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are too many sweet moments to pick the best one! One sweet moment was when one of the girls made me a bracelet (that I still have) and told me she loved when I played with her. Another sweet moment would be on rainy days when the girls and I would eat popcorn and watch their favorite Disney movies cuddled on a pallet of blankets on the floor.
