I have worked in summer camps and after school settings for 7+ years as a supervisor and performing arts instructor. I babysit occasionally after school when needed. I accompany children to after school activities and do night time routines. I've also done over-night care when needed. I am currently a Pre-K paraprofessional working towards my degree in Early Childhood Education.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Outdoor adventure is always the go-to. I love being able to run and play and have fun with the children I look after. It is important for young ones to know that grown ups like to have fun too. I am well equipped with team building activities and indoor games for children who may not like to be outdoors as much. Painting, music, and reading are great indoor activities that keep the mind going without exerting too much energy. For infants, keeping them physically engaged for development is important. Tummy Time is a must.

I am trained through NYCs Dignity for All Students Act and am able to work with children with special needs. There are also trainings and workshops available for me to increase my knowledge on working with children who have special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The children I looked after were from Denmark and were moving back. The day they were leaving, I was the last person they wanted to say good-bye to. We cried, laughed, and hugged until it was time for them to head to the airport. Once they were settled we had a video chat and they said if they could bring one more thing from NY to Denmark, it would have been me. I love those children with my entire heart and cannot wait until they get the chance to come back and visit.
