My senior year of High School I was assigned to a 1st grade class to mentor the kids/teacher. I was then assigned a specific child to help him with subjects he was struggling with. In the beginning he was unable to read all together. I worked with him everyday for 8 weeks and he was reading on his own by the end of the time. That moment was when I realized I wanted to work with kids more and help them as they are our future and education is so important.
