Hi, my name is Christie also known as kiekie and I’ve been working with children for over 8 years. I have experience working with children ages newborn till school age. I also have experience working with multiple children at one time.
I have worked for over 10+ families ranging from date nights, temp positions, full time, part time, live in, live outs, school pick ups, etc.
I was also a Sunday school teacher as well as a teachers aid for 6-7 grade math and science. I’ve also done hosting for children’s birthday parties and celebrations.
I am currently training to become a newborn care specialist to further my experience and expertise in the childcare field.

The most important part about being a nanny...

You get to watch them grow, teach them new things, and celebrate each new stage in their life right alongside them. Being a nanny means you can get the full mommy experience before you have your own kids and feel as though you are the most equipped person ever to become a mom one day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for my younger brother who has autism/ non-verbal since the age of 4. I have learned to understand how he conducts himself, learned to understand exactly what he wants without communication, and each and every one of his moods.
I’ve taught him how to say his name, how to say other people’s names, how to ask for what he wants, how to say please and thank you, and how to greet people.
Although he doesn’t speak, he understands a lot of things now and is very intelligent. I know he is a very special person and so is yours.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite babysitting moments is when.... a child I cared for who was about the age of 1 and a half and couldn’t walk he was even afraid to crawl. So one day when his parents brought him over, I put him on the side of the couch and went back six feet and held out my hands for him to come to me. He started to cry at first but me and my siblings started to sing a song “ keep walking keep walking keep walking.” Immediately he let go of the couch and started dancing and walked right towards me. It was such a Bueatiful moment seeing him overcome his fear with the help of his little support team to cheer him up. 😊 he is now 5 years old walking everywhere but I will never forget his first moment. Hopefully I can share this memory with him when he gets older.
