More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old.
I have babysat my nieces and nephews & I have had up to 15 kids (mine included) ages 15 and under. I thrive taking care of children. We spend time at the parks, reading books, doing school, teaching kids how to do age appropriate chores, and listening to music & dance together.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to parks, Skating, Pushing my triple stroller, swimming, playing in splash pads, going for walks, playing with toys, reading, playing tickle games, racing the kids, playing red light/green light, playing hide & seek, watching shows during rest time for older kiddos, singing & dancing, jumping on trampolines (or at my house, we would jump on our beds and do flips from the couch).

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making the kids feel special and important. It's important to spend time with the kids reading to them and helping them learn.

My experience with special needs children...

I understand that special needs children need more patience, clear communication (and this week at the airport I learned that you should not lie to them because they will not trust you when you are trying to get them to do something & they are afraid). Some need space to express their feelings & to adjust to their surroundings.

The most important part about being a nanny...

With my own kids, I LOVE the times when we can tackle, have races, hold hands as we walk to the park, do chores together with them & tell jokes & laughing as we sit on the kitchen floor scrubbing it. I love bedtime hugs & kisses & bedtime stories. My boys love having their backs rubbed, so having me sing them a song, pray with them & rub their backs is one of those sweet moments when I can feel them calming down & they close their sweet little eyes from a long good day.
