She is professional & such a good partner to our household- always checking in & respecting whatever our preference is for our daughter. In watching both my daughter & my niece (15mo&5yr), She has done an amazing job managing 2 very different parenting styles between myself & my sister. With her knowledge and experience, she has brought routine as well as many educational & developmental activities to our home. She taught our kids so much during her short time with us this summer. We have a big temperamental dog who takes some warming up to. She handled this interaction with him so well. Now they're best friends! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Currently nannying for a 6 yo a & 4 yo 3 days/wk. The oldest was diagnosed with ASD during my first year with them. Been with them for over 3 yrs. Previously nannied part time for 3 other families with children ranging from 4 mos - 13 yrs. Preschool teacher for many years with lead teacher experience in toddler, preschool, and pre-k classrooms.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to read, do crafts and messy art projects and science experiments, bake cookies and other child-friendly recipes, play games, or learn something new with the children at home. I like to go on nature walks and have scavenger hunts, play at the park, play at the splash pads in summer, color with chalk or use ice or water to paint on the sidewalk, or maybe visit the zoo or a museum.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Forming meaningful relationships with the children and parents so that I become a trusted part of their care circle. Being reliable and dependable, keeping open communication, & understanding the parents childcare philosophies so that they feel comfortable and secure while the children are in my care.

My experience with special needs children...

Currently a nanny to a 6yo with ASD. I also spent a year as a substitute para for special needs kiddos within the local school district in California and helped work one-on-one with kids in the classroom while they went about the school day. I have also worked with several young children with ASD and sensory processing disorders in my own classrooms during my time as a preschool teacher, incorporating behavior modification and ABA methods.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I get there first thing in the morning and get to see the little smiles on their faces and the big hugs when they run to meet me letting me know they are happy to see me there. That moment brings me so much joy.
