More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I previously mentioned my relevant experience in the “About Me” section, so please feel free to refer back to that.
I’ve always known that I wanted to be a teacher, and I mean that! When I was 5-6 years old, I’d spend every evening in my Dad’s gym, making my Dad participate in pretend school, as he was doing his daily gym routine. To this day, he says that I was the best year old teacher in the world -
Albeit a little bossy (Thanks Dad!).
During high school, I’d nanny over the summer and babysit during the school year.
My passion is to be part of a child’s early years. Children’s brains are sponges and it’s so gratifying to help create a positive impact on their lives. It’s my goal to help them become confident in themselves and their capabilities, while at the same time creating a positive learning experience and amazing memories to look back on when they’re older!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Depending on the ages:
Newborns: I know how specific a newborns schedule can get, so I prefer following the parents exact wishes when it comes to their newborn.
6-12 months: I mainly go off of what the parents wish. I don’t want to overstep any boundaries and I know that every family is different when it comes to what they’re comfortable with.
2-6 years: I have different approaches to daily activities with different families but the main activities include:
•Walks (when weather permits)
•Indoor and outdoor scavenger hunts
•Going to the playground or the park (Wills Park, North Park, Hembree Park, Whitaker Park, Mabry Park - are only just some of the one’s I’m familiar with)
•A “day trip” to Scottsdale Farms, where the kiddos get to safely play and enjoy seeing the goats, chickens, cows and pigs!
•Coloring
•Imaginative playing
•Arts and crafts
•Dance parties
7-10:
•Puzzles/board games
•Riding bikes/scooters
•Building forts
•Putting on a play
•Arts and crafts
•Kids Museum

The most important part about being a nanny...
Making the most positive impact on these little one’s lives that I possibly can. I want to set a good example of what it means to be a kind person, teach them what is important to know at their age, show them and teach them the importance of manners, honesty, courage and most importantly, try my best to make every day that I spend with them, the most fun and fulfilling day possible.
My experience with special needs children...
I have less than a year of experience with a special needs child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There are so many moments that I could list in this section but my most recent favorites are:
When my 3 year old boy randomly and unexpectedly said “Christine…I’m gonna tell you something I’ve never said before. You’re the best nanny in the whole wide world.” This had me taken aback. This little one is the sweetest boy and is very caring but he had never said anything that special to me. I had to try my best to keep it together because the way he said it, I could just sense he really meant it.
When I am buckling my 5 year old girl into her car seat and we are going back and forth with little jokes and when it was her turn, she started to pretend she was me…talking like me and making hand gestures like I do. It was so funny and cute! She had me cracking up.
All in all, there isn’t anything more special than the day to day moments that when you take a moment to reflect on, prove the connection, love and trust that take time to build. It is the most satisfying part of my job.

Hi everyone! My name is Ashika.
I'm a 19-year-old Georgia Tech student with a lot of hands-on experience caring for kids. Growing up with a 5-year-old sister and a 13-year-old brother taught me how to be patient, responsible, and creative. I also babysit for families in my church community and volunteer with our daycare ministry, where I always look forward to organizing fun games and activities. I have my own transportation, so I can easily help with driving to activities, homework help, or light cleanup. Looking forward to connecting with you!
