My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have formal experience providing one-on-one care for children with significant support needs, I have worked with children of varying abilities in an after-school program. Some of the children I worked with had developmental or learning differences, but they were generally independent with daily tasks such as using the restroom and other self-care activities. I also have experience supporting children with ADHD, ADD, anxiety, and a variety of learning styles. These experiences have taught me to be patient, adaptable, and understanding. I’m eager to continue learning and would be happy to work with families to provide the care and support their child needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’m currently building my experience as a caregiver, so I don’t have a specific “favorite nanny moment” yet. However, through my experience working in an after-school program as a Kids Club Counselor, some of my favorite moments have been seeing children become more confident, learn new things, and enjoy activities I helped create.
