My name is Claira and I am the oldest of five kids (with a 13 year age gap) so I’ve grown up taking care of my siblings as well as lots of little cousins! I have also babysat for a lot of families throughout my years. I love children so much, it is definitely a HUGE part of who I am! Outside of that I love to get outdoors, read, I am obsessed with skincare and drama shows . I try to be a light as much as I can since the world can be a dark place. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a fully time nanny for a 9 month old girl from January-August of 2024. I watched her 3 year old sister as well when she wasn’t at preschool and over that summer! I also got my RBT certification this past winter and spent time working with young children (3-6 years old) who had autism.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going to the splash pad or children’s museum! Getting out of the house is always fun for me but in the heat being indoors I always love to get creative with the kids and make a craft or play make believe.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe one of the most important thing working with children is being present. Children of all ages are a handful and things can quickly get out of hand if you are not paying attention and anticipating conflicts. I also know children do best and are less frustrated/acting out when they feel they are being heard and not ignored.

My experience with special needs children...

My youngest brother is nonverbal and has only been able to walk with a walker. He recently had surgery and is only able to use a wheelchair now until he gets stronger through physical therapy. He is 9 years old and the sweetest boy. He is an inspiration to me and has taught me so much about compassion and love for children who have more needs than others. I have always taken care of him growing up and am familiar with the importance of being alert and anticipating needs, as well as making sure he is eating/drinking and getting his medicine when he needs it. All children are beautiful and important-no matter how much care they need.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One boy I was watching was super into fighters and working out. He wanted to show me how big his muscles had got and how many push-ups he could do. It was the cutest thing and cracked me up!
