A little bit about me

Hey! My name is Claire Wu Anderson, and I am currently studying Peace Studies and Communication and Media Studies at Goucher College. Due to my personal ethnic background (biracial Taiwanese-Swedish American), I speak both Mandarin Chinese and English. When I'm not studying, I am being creative through fine art or photography, or I am staying active through running or yoga. Most of my work experience comes from working service industry jobs in both food and retail, but I also have experience in working with special needs children. For three years, I worked at a summer camp in rural Connecticut that specialized in teaching special needs children how to ride and take care of horses. I am most comfortable in a job setting that keeps me moving around. Because of my studies, I have learned how to be both an effective communicator and listener, and how to support someone based off of their individual needs and not just treat everyone with an intellectualized blanket approach.
