The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is allowing kids to be kids. This is such a special formative time in their life, and for most, the only time they feel they can be unapologetically themselves while they are trying to figure out the world around them. Providing a safe and nurturing environment where they can explore, learn, and grow is essential. It's important to encourage their curiosity, support their creativity, and validate their feelings. By fostering a loving and respectful relationship, that can help children build confidence and develop a strong sense of self. Engaging in playful activities, reading stories, and having meaningful conversations can contribute significantly to their emotional and intellectual development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My most memorable moments are putting on plays with the kids I babysat. I would do this pretty regularly with them coming up with the storyline, but after a few times the kids started coming up with their own, directing me instead. Not only did I love seeing them giggle trying on different costume pieces, but my favorite part was seeing the gears turning as they let their creativity and imaginations run wild.
Over time, I noticed how these little productions helped them grow in confidence and teamwork. They learned to listen to each other's ideas, negotiate roles, and collaborate to bring their stories to life.
These moments weren't just playtime; they were building blocks of creativity, cooperation, and self-expression.
