In addition to being a mom to a 6 month old baby boy, I have one year of experience nannying with a two year old. I have also been a preschool and toddler teacher in two different early learning centers. I have two years of classroom experience as well as 7 years of experience volunteering with youth ministry and children’s ministry at my church.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite activities to do with kids is being creative and making art. I love seeing kids creativity and self expression come to life. Art also provides a great outlet for being messy and learning a lot about the world around us!
I am also a big fan of being outside and believe that outdoor play is an essential part of encouraging children’s play. I love to go on walks, draw with chalk, do bubbles, and play sports with the kids I care for. Allowing kids to be goofy, creative and have fun are some of my top priorities when spending time with children!

The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part about being a nanny is creating a positive and real relationship with both the child and family I am working with. A nanny becomes a part of the family they are working with as one of the consistent caregivers to the child and this is a privilege I do not take lightly. Communication between parents and nanny is really important to me. I want to be an extension of the family's values and love to their child as much as I possibly can!
My experience with special needs children...
I have had two children with autism in my classroom before and volunteer with a few students who have autism at the church I attend. I have learned so much from these students and I am so grateful for the experience of working with them. I have had training from occupational therapists on strategies to helping create the best learning environment for our students with special needs. I now have a better understanding of how to care for the social, emotional, physical, and sensory needs of children with special needs.
