I love the library! I'm a huge reader and love to inspire young readers. I like going to the playground and playing games to promote physical activity. I enjoy helping children with their school work, and teaching them about their emotions and other aspects of well being.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The child. After that, finding a family who shares your philospies. Parenting styles vary and just because I would do something differently doesn't mean that person is a bad parent, and vice versa. What it does mean is we're probably not a great match. While it could be ideal for a child to receive multiple parenting styles, many times our own egos and life experience gets in the way of that. For simplicity's sake, I believe it best for a nanny and parent to have the same core values.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a 7 year old step daughter with autism. Growing up my parents had a business catering to special need children, so they're always close to my heart.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There are so many! My absolute favorite moments are when I can help a child with their understanding. There's no bigger reward for me than helping a child through an emotional place by teaching them to feel, express, and work through their feelings. Much better than a tantrum!
