I think the most important part is getting the kids to be comfortable with you, as well as you learning about them so they can feel even more comfortable with you.

I actually have a 2 year old nephew who has autism, and working with special needs children is hard a challenge only when you don’t put in the effort to learn about them, show them that no matter what they have your undivided attention, and just treating them like there is no difference between them and another kid.
