More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve had a lot of hands-on experience working with kids in different settings, and it’s something I really enjoy. I worked as a lifeguard, which taught me how to stay calm, alert, and responsible no matter what’s going on. I’ve also spent time at summer camps helping run activities, keeping kids engaged, and making sure everyone felt included. I volunteered in my church nursery caring for younger children during services, helping with playtime, snacks, and keeping things running smoothly. On top of that, I took several childhood education classes during college, which gave me a solid understanding of child development and how to best support kids as they grow.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love keeping kids busy in ways that are fun but also meaningful. That usually looks like playing games, doing crafts, reading together, or getting outside for some fresh air and activity. I also really enjoy hands-on things like baking simple recipes together or coming up with creative little projects. I like mixing fun with learning in a natural way, whether that’s helping with homework, encouraging imagination, or just finding small everyday moments to make special.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a space where kids feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves. It’s about building trust through consistency, patience, and really paying attention to who each child is and what they need. I think a great nanny knows how to bring energy and fun into a child’s day, but also provide calm, structure, and reassurance when it’s needed. At the heart of it, it’s about being someone kids can rely on and feel good around, while giving parents peace of mind knowing their children are cared for with attention, kindness, and genuine care.
My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have extensive experience working specifically with special needs children, I am open, patient, and very willing to learn. My background has helped me develop strong awareness, adaptability, and a calm approach in different situations with kids. I always focus on meeting each child where they are, being supportive, and following any guidance from parents to make sure their needs are understood and respected.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was in the church nursery when a usually shy little kid suddenly became the “announcer” of everything happening in the room. They grabbed a toy microphone and started narrating snack time like it was a live sports broadcast complete with dramatic pauses and very serious commentary on who was choosing which crackers. By the end, all the kids were laughing and playing along, and even the quiet ones got pulled into the fun. It was one of those unexpected moments where everything just clicked and the room felt super light and happy.

Since returning to Tennessee I have worked as a daycare teacher, substitute teacher, and for the last three years as a full-time nanny and household manager.
