Hi! My name is Cristalin, and I’m currently in college working toward becoming a pediatric nurse. I’ve always loved working with children and enjoy creating a fun, safe, and positive environment for them. I was a gymnastics coach for two years, where I worked with children of all different ages and learned a lot about patience, communication, and making sure each child feels comfortable and supported. I also have experience babysitting my little cousin, who has autism, and I’ve been caring for him since he was born—he’s now seven years old! I recently became an aunt to a newborn nephew as well, so I’m around children of all ages and stages. I think the most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, caring, and trusting environment for the child. I believe it’s important to be patient, dependable, and attentive while also making sure the child feels comfortable, heard, and supported. I want the children I care for to have fun and feel like they can be themselves while their parents have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with special needs through babysitting my autistic cousin. I have been babysitting him regularly every Sunday since he was born, and he is now seven years old. Over the years, I’ve learned how to be patient, understanding, and attentive to his individual needs and personality. This experience has helped me become comfortable creating a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment while making sure he feels understood and cared for.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments is when I get to see a child become comfortable enough around me to be completely themselves. I especially love the little moments when we’re playing, laughing, or doing something simple together and they’re having so much fun. It’s really rewarding knowing that I’ve helped create a safe and happy environment where they feel comfortable and cared for.
