Before graduating as a teacher, I worked at various daycare centers. After earning my degree in Comprehensive Education, I taught children in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. Since moving to this country, I have worked with several families, caring for children ranging from newborns up to nine years of age. With my current family—whose children are 6 and 9 years old—I have been with them for nearly six years; I also take on occasional childcare jobs on weekends.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Generally, I try to coordinate activities based on the parents' preferences. However, I love taking walks in the park, swimming in pools, doing experiments at home, and visiting the library for storytime.

For me, the most important part of being a nanny is the impact that care and love have during the early years of life—and how, when provided with ethics, respect, and professionalism in partnership with the parents, this approach can truly transform a child's life, helping them grow into good and more empathetic human beings.

I absolutely love working as a nanny, and there are many very special moments; however, the best one for me was when the little boy I look after gave me his security blanket and pacifier as a special gift. Another highlight is preparing special dishes from my home country with him—seeing how much he loves them and asks me for *arepitas* almost every day.
