Nurturing young minds and supporting families is my passion. For the past 6 years, I've had the joy of caring for children aged 6-weeks to 11. I hold a college degree and I'm comfortable caring for up to two children at a time.
My approach is patient, creative, and friendly. I enjoy playing outdoor games, board games, and educational activities. I also love to do artsy stuff so I am more than willing to color and do art with your child! I'm very comfortable enforcing household rules and will always followed your preferred communication method for updates. I am CPR and First Aid certified.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at The Nest in High Point, NC for one year as an assistant teacher who floated between classrooms, allowing me to work with every age group. During my final months there, I served as the lead teacher for school-aged children ranging from kindergarten through fifth grade, where I created a structured classroom environment that supported learning and emotional safety. I then worked at Fleshman-Pratt Education Center in Thomasville, NC for a year and a half, spending 11 months with toddlers and 9 months with 2–3-year-olds. In addition to these roles, I have over two years of experience as a teacher assistant working with all elementary grade levels. Throughout my teaching experience, I have developed lesson plans, written newsletters, conducted observations, and participated in parent conferences. I strongly believe that children grow best when educators and families work together as a team.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing arts and crafts the most. This is my favorite category to do with children because it gives them a chance to use their fine motor skills and explore things that are new to them. In addition to this, I enjoy doing outdoor activities and educational activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a teacher is teaching the children and being in line with the parents. I firmly believe that a child will not grow if the teacher is working with the child but the parent is not. I believe that parents and teachers need to work together to figure out what works for the children.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience working with special needs children includes supporting children on the autism spectrum, as well as a child with an undiagnosed condition that resulted in significant developmental delays and limited mobility. Through these experiences, I have learned that patience is essential and that effective teaching requires understanding each child as an individual, since strategies that work for one child may not work for another. I also have experience working with special needs children of all ages within a public elementary school setting.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite teaching moment was when a child that I had in the toddler room moved up to the 3's classroom that I currently work in. The child walked up to me and told me that he loved me and that made my entire day. Another favorite memory that I have is when I worked with a child with special needs who could not talk begin to say his first words at 4-years-old. It was a very sweet moment because instead of getting upset that I could not understand him, he was so excited because he finally got across to me. It was a turning point in my preschool teaching career for sure. It finalized that teaching is something that I want to do.
