A little bit about me

I have a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychology with a specialization of working with young children all the way to teenagers. I worked as a professional Nanny for about 15 years. Then, after I got my Masters Degree, I got my mental health license in Ohio and then when I moved to Mississippi, I have worked for a community mental health organization in which I am still present. I am very good as a nanny and a therapist specializing in children, (behavior problems, special needs such as Autism, ADHD etc…) I love working with kids but I am also looking to get out of the “corporate life.. The kids matter far more to me and as a nanny I know I can be a great asset to your family with the eclectic experience that I have. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have a Bachelors Degree in Art, so needless to say, I love working with kids and art. I enjoy painting, coloring, and I have tons of board games that I know the kids would enjoy. I am excellent at school projects.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny is a time that I can spend with kids, help with homework. Play games, go to play-dates as well as setting limits and boundaries within their appropriate age group. I have also found that by being a nanny, parents can spend more time with their children and I can do errands, grocery shopping, or whatever other things that need to done. The bond between a nanny and the child is the most important part about being a nanny because there is something special about that bond. I would not be a separate entity from the family, but an addition and having the concept that “It takes a village to raise a child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was working with a family in Massachusetts in which Harry Potter just came out in book form. The 3 boys I cared for loved the Harry Potter books and they enjoyed me reading to them. The interesting part of that was that the kids school library and a local Bookstore that I worked at part time for… New that I am a big reader so I played as one of the Harry Potter characters and put on special events surrounding the Harry Potter events in line with the book series.
