A little bit about me

I am a 25-year-old childcare professional with 9 years of professional experience with children ages 3 months to 15 years.
I love running activities that help encourage kids to develop their critical thinking skills, reading skills, and creativity. I have done mock spelling bees with kids, created scavenger hunts, problem solving and team building games that require kids to think through a problem collaboratively, and helped facilitate countless crafts, skits, and storybuilding games. With younger kids, I plan counting activities, sorting colors/numbers, tracing letters, games to support the development of their fine motor skills, language skills, sensory play, muscle development(supported sitting/standing/tummy time), and reading in order to support educational development. Working in childcare has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience of my entire life and I would love to continue making an impact in children's lives as a long term career nanny!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything that uses imagination! I love running around outside with them, making up pretend worlds to play in with little quests to finish. Lego’s and blocks tend to be a favorite among children as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the kids are maintaining a routine and focusing on learning and experiencing new things(foods, textures, colors, etc) as much as possible.

My experience with special needs children...

My first job as a nanny was with 2 young special needs children. The 2 year old had autism and adhd and the 5 year old had adhd. I had to keep them on task and entertained while they’re parents were out. They were absolutely wonderful children to work with and I still count them as one of my best nannying jobs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was nannying for 3 kids, they all became pretty close with me. When I would leave for the day they’d all give me hugs and ask when I would be back, and when I would come in in the morning they’d get excited to see me and give me hugs. The two littlest(1 and 3) were very sweet, they loved to cuddle and play. The oldest(4) was more independent and required a bit more time to warm up to someone. A couple weeks into nannying, I left the house for the day and as I was saying goodbye, the oldest said “bye! I love you!” and it was the sweetest thing knowing I had gained her trust.
