A little bit about me

I am available part time & interested in working on the weekends. After graduating from Ole Miss w/ a BA in political science in 2019, I worked as a live-in nanny to a wonderful family in Australia. While I’m a goofy person & like to bring that energy to my kids, I take my role as teacher, confidant, & guardian very seriously. My past experience has taught me to adapt my guardian style to reflect the needs of the child. This allows for better communication, builds trust in our relationship & helps the kids find confidence within themselves. I've also learned to make a plan & to also be prepared to abandon all plans & make something up on the spot! A childcare provider has to balance being the responsible trustworthy role model that a parent needs & the energetic, adventurous friend that the kids will respect & want to play with. I have this balancing act down pat which is why I think parents love to have me as a childcare provider!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

all kinds of sports, arts and crafts, science experiments and all the games! I love making games up with kids and diving into our imaginations to make the day a fun adventure! I love being outdoors and try to instill that in the kids I work with. There's always something fun to be done and we can be active and energetic no matter the circumstance! At the same time, a good lazy day is needed once in a while in which we read or write and make our own books!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is making sure the kids are (and feel) safe! Trust is very important in relationships with the kids. Whether I'm starting to give swim lessons, babysitting for the first time, or introducing myself to my cabin, I always make sure the kids know that I will trust them and they can trust me. Once trust is established, the kids will feel secure when I am with them. With that being said, the second most important part about being a nanny is communication; both with the kids as well as with the parents. Being a camp counselor has taught me that when there are many guardians in the picture, it is important to make sure everyone is on the same page about issues or exciting happenings in the kids' lives. The third most important aspect of being a nanny is adaptability. A caregiver needs to have 5 back up plans and be able to throw them all away and start from scratch at the drop of a hat! Kids are unpredictable which is so fun and you just need to be ready to roll with the punches!!

My experience with special needs children...

Over the past 7 years, I have met and worked with kids off all abilities and needs! Teaching kids with special needs is its own special task and the reward is also in its own category!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My absolute favorite thing about being a childcare provider is when a kid comes to me with pure excitement on their face to tell me or to show me something they've accomplished, something that we had been working on together. Being able to share a moment like that is one of the moments that makes working with kids so amazing.

I am 21 years old and have been taking care of kids all my life. Family, friends, clients. I have done lots of nanny jobs with consistent families for long periods of time, and have worked at after school programs, birthday party planning for children, summer camps, etc. I have a natural passion for children and I am looking for a full-time family needing child care assistance. I would be able to watch over the children, help with homework, do fun and safe activities, go to the park, meal prep, etc. I am eager for an experience like this!
