My most recent job is to take care of a one year old little boy. I prepare and feed him breakfast and lunch, and I provide him independence to feed himself with solids that are easy for him to grab. I keep on a schedule so he can take naps for about 2-3 hours long. I keep him engaged through reading, playing with toys, outdoor walks, trips to the library and musical instruments.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Playing on the playground in the park and assisting child on the slide or swings. I enjoy going to the children museum. When inside the house, the activity varies based on age such as reading stories, using flash cards or playing with puzzles. I attend story time at the public library.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The ability to watch the growth of children excites me because it shows that I played a part in expanding their mindset and working with them. Also, I enjoy working with the families and creating a set routine that works for everyone.

Includes caring with children that have developmental disabilities. I used flash cards and posters to help with understanding and comprehension.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I got to experience the child I worked with take her first steps while we were out at the library. However, when we got back home she refused to walk again so I didn’t tell her parents. Weeks later she did it again and then they were able to see her “second attempt” at taking her first steps. It’s just the joy in my heart to know I got to experience it with her, that made it memorable.
