Making sure the children are showed loved and compassion. They are tiny adults who are just in the process of learning and we as adults should recognize this and help them to grow.
My experience with special needs children...
At the daycare I worked at, we were the only center who would take in special needs children. More than 25% of our children were special needs, and I tend to gravitate towards them because I can understand their though process and actions easier due to my Social Work knowledge
