More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have a BS Edu, K to 9th & have taught in middle school and 4K.
I was a nanny for triplets plus a bonus sibling, and several families with children with special needs.
I have more than 10 years experience in daycare as a teacher plus several more as a substitute. I spent the majority of time with toddlers to preschoolers (18 months to 5 year olds) but also have had quite a bit of time with babies and children 5 to 12 years old.
For 14 years, I was a Girl Scout Leader. Most often during that time I had responsibilities for girls with a varied age range from Kindergarteners to Middle and High Schoolers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
In the past, I have taken children to library stroy hours, walks in their own neighborhood, playing outside and going to parks. I would love to explore more children's museums and zoos that were not available as an option at any previous opportunities.
I love to read, do crafts and simple cooking with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The bond I have with the children is most important. Everything else stems from that. If you have a good bond, children will be happier.
My experience with special needs children...
Most recently, I have had the care of an autistic child. The majority of my experience is with children with ADHD, ADD, and trauma affected children. For several years, I had the care of a wheel chair bound young man one weekend and month when his father was doing guard duty. That family grew while I was there to include a 3rd sibling with special needs from a genetic condition. The family keeps me on their approved caregiver list in case they need a substitute.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There are so many moments that come to mind but one of the silliest was a little girl that told me that she needed me to put gas in her Little Tykes car so she could go to the store. I asked her to give me her usual payment for the "gas" (a smile). She told me she couldn't smile because she had to go to the store for toothpaste and smiles are in the toothpaste.
