My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children has been one of the biggest parts of my life and the reason I decided to major in Special Education. I have worked with children with a variety of disabilities through babysitting and summer camps. I have also worked in special education classrooms and as a peer leader, helping students with academics, activities, communication, and everyday skills. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, understanding, flexibility, and meeting each child where they are. I truly love getting to know each child as an individual and finding ways to help them feel supported, included, and loved. Most of my experince is with the Mild and moderate levels! And nonverbal autism.
