A little bit about me

Hi there,

My name is Desta Parks. I am 25 years old, I am currently in college working on my radiation therapy program. While I do go to school I also work as a bartender and server at a restaurant. I love growing bonds with kids and making a good impact on their lives and hope to have some of my own someday, just currently don’t have time for that right at this moment. My plan is to get through college first then plan the rest of my life. I do have 8 siblings majority are girls. I take family time/gatherings serious. I’m willing to work with everyone as long as you’re willing to work with me. I also do have a weird and unusual schedule with college so that is important to discuss!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a daycare in plant city for about a year and from time to time I will go in there and help. So I have been finger printed and a background check done on me as well. My kids still remember and it makes my heart filled with joy. Besides that I also have siblings I have helped with and I have my friends who are new fresh mommies that I adore and help out with.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’m a very crafty person so I love doing arts and crafts, playing outside (this is what my childhood consisted of and I loved my childhood.) I love teaching new things to kids (shapes, colors, abc’s you name it.)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing is helping a kid or preteen grow. I want them to think of me as family eventually and know that I want to see them be the best that I know they can be. Teaching them things based on their age. Making sure if in school we get homework done and prioritize what’s important. Over all though it’s important to have a connection with the child and try to be the example for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite moment with one of my kids at the daycare was the bond we grew. He was always so shy and afraid of my at first but he really warmed up to me and he would always be at my desk trying to be the center of attention. Don’t get me wrong a handful of course but nothing I can’t deal with. He also lost a parent and in a way I could kinda relate to him in that sense. So we just clicked. He’s still my buddy when I go up to the daycare and visit.
