Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Throughout high school I had a bunch of scattered babysitting jobs while also being a lifeguard. While lifeguarding I was responsible for the care and safety of children of all ages, mostly ranging from around 2 years old to 12 years old. While making sure the kids were safe I also made sure to play with them and teach them how to swim. I absolutely adore kids and being able to see them meet milestones in their lives!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy a variety of activities. These activities range from the more creative side like coloring, arts and crafts, working on fine motor skills, to more active activities, such as playing outside, swimming, learning new games and so much more.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is maintaining a healthy balance between teaching and having fun, while also working on overlapping the two. It is also so important to create a close bond with the child to ensure comfortability.
My experience with special needs children...
Although my current job as a Direct Support Professional is working directly with adults who have disabilities, I feel as though a lot of the skills I have learned can be applied at some level to younger kids as well.
