Hi, my name is Diana. I am 22 years old who recently moved to Miami. I have been nannying since I was 16 years old, although for the past year I worked as a live in caretaker for an elderly woman to broaden my experience with care taking. Nannying is something that truly enjoy because seeing children being curious about life and growing into their own personalities is one of the most rewarding qualities to being a nanny. The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny is being patient and calm no matter what. Wether siblings start to fight or if someone trips and falls and scrapes their knee. Having a calm reaction can help when situations occur and being patient is a good life skill in general. Children will definitely test your patience but I learned that based by your own reaction children can adapt to those same reactions that you have. So having a calm reaction teaches the children as well that when things don't go particularly your way to not lash out or have a tantrum but to simply be calm step away for a minute and once you've been able to have that moment for your self and have a clearer head space that they can tackle anything that life throws at them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was tidying up the house the kids wanted to also help out especially the youngest (4 yrs old) that I was looking after. The youngest really wanted to vacuum the floor so I handed her the vacuum hose that's connected to the wall and as soon as I stepped out I hear her cry when I came back she vacuumed up her socks and her favorite shirt (she was wearing the shirt) haha
