The most important part about being a nanny...
Aside from taking care of them, giving them boundaries and working with them to ensure they’re both comfortable, safe and happy. Children have strong little personalities, it’s important for me to give them space and let them come around and do more activities the more comfortable they get with me! I don’t believe in yelling, or making a fuss about something trivial, I want to be able to them work through these strong emotions they are just now experiencing and figuring out.
My experience with special needs children...
I actively volunteered at the Almost Home Kids location in Naperville from April to September 2018. Being a volunteer, I would get to hang out with the kiddos, read the young ones book with animation in my voice, making jewelry and singing karaoke with the older ones. Almost Home Kids is an organization where children with complex medical needs are being taken care of as a transitional bridge from hospital to home life.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Definitely getting to see the sweet babies smile and laugh ! It fills my heart with my so much joy, getting to see them be so happy and having fun is what I aim to do.

I am looking for a part time nannying job over the summer. I am an English and Art major completing my Freshman year at Hillsdale College, but live in West Chicago, IL. I am the third of six children; I have lots of experience with caring for children of all ages, infants included. Since 8th grade, I nannied weekly for a family with four children, one of which was an infant! The job included making meals, tidying the house, driving the kids and playing around together--it was an absolute joy. I've also done countless ad hoc babysitting jobs for many families in my community. I love spending time outside, making up stories, playing pretend, going on adventures or simply chatting with the little ones I care for. I am all about becoming good friends with the children that I babysit--I can multitask very well, am responsible and conscientious. If you would like to have referrals from anyone I've babysat for in the past, I would be glad to provide that!
