Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I used to be a volunteer teacher at my local church for three years, where I taught kindergarten and first grade students. I also cared for a four year old and a nine year old for two years, and cared for younger family members.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to color and do crafts with children. I like to read and draw with kiddos. I like to play board games and can play video games (while keeping in mind moderation). I like to go out in the community such as the library, swimming, play basketball and can play catch. I also enjoy going on walks and the park and spend time outside. I enjoy spending time with children and adolescents and am very flexible to what their interests may be.
My experience with special needs children...
I used to work as a case manager for Foothills Gateway and specifically worked with guardians who had children with all types of special needs. Although I did not directly work with these children I was exposed to them and learned through conversations with parents/guardians the variety of needs that the children can have and how they handle outburst of any kind.
