I have been babysitting and nannying for 9 years, and most recently have had the opportunity to work as a student teacher in infant and toddler classrooms for the past 2 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorite activities to do with children are hands on arts and crafts or baking/cooking. It is so fun to see kiddos exploring new textures, expressing themselves thorugh art, and enjoying things they made themselves! I also love getting outside with children, going on color walks, water play, chalk, and running around outside are great ways to regulate, learn, and stay busy!

The most important part of being a nanny is consistency. Children thrive in a safe and predictable environment, and I strive to make everyday fun, playful, and silly, but also to be a person and create a space where they feel safe, unapologetically themselves, and where they are best set up for growing and flourishing.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was about 2 years into working with a family, and one of the children had just turned 2 and was exploding with language. Every morning when I arrived, I would say "good morning, my buddy" while he was eating breakfast. One day I was happily surprised when he said back to me "good moring my Dylan!" With the biggest smile on his face. It was such a small thing, but it reminded me how meaningful consistency and loving attention are during these early years, and how special it is to witness these tiny-but-mighty milestones.
