More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During my time as an Early Interventionist, I supported infants and toddlers with developmental delays through play-based activities, daily routines, and family-centered care. Day to day, I worked on communication, motor development, social engagement, and emotional regulation while collaborating closely with families in their homes and therapists in the community to support each child’s outcomes. I also have years of experience providing nannying/babysitting care, helping families establish consistent daily routines that support both the child’s needs and the family’s schedule. This includes supporting safe developmentally appropriate eating habits, creating engaging play and learning activities tailored to each child, and encouraging age-appropriate independence with daily tasks. Through both professional and personal roles, I’ve cared for children with diverse needs and developmental levels always prioritizing patience, structure, and a nurturing environment.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my all time favorite activities is playing with stacking cups, especially with younger children. I love how a simple toy can be transformed into endless possibilities what starts as a tower can quickly become a shovel, a bug catcher, or something entirely new. Watching a child’s face light up as they discover new ways to use one toy is incredibly rewarding. Using open-ended toys not only gives them more longevity, but also nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and imagination. I love seeing children take that creativity even further, before you know it a stack of cups turns into a whole game or a simple string becomes a lasso!
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me the most important part of being a nanny is supporting a child’s development in a way that feels safe and consistent. Children learn better when they have predictable routines and strong trusting relationships, especially in environments they already know and feel comfortable in. Being able to support children in their own home allows me to build on their natural routines, interests, and family values while helping them grow socially, and developmentally. Nannying also creates consistency for families by providing a dependable caregiver their children already trust, which helps support the child’s sense of security.
My experience with special needs children...
I have hands on experience supporting children with a wide range of developmental needs through my work as an Early Interventionist, where I worked with children with developmental delays. I used play based and family centered strategies to support development while collaborating closely with families and other professionals. In addition to my professional experience, I have been involved in inclusive programs and organizations that support individuals with disabilities including, but not limited to, ClemsonLIFE at Clemson University. These experiences strengthened my understanding of inclusion, advocacy, and the importance of creating environments where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered. Through these roles I’ve developed a patient and flexible approach to caring for children with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments as a nanny was attending a child’s Christmas program after we had spent the entire week practicing his solo together. When it was time for him to sing, he looked straight at me in the audience and confidently sang the entire song. Watching him succeed in that moment knowing the time, encouragement, and practice it took to helped him feel confident was incredibly rewarding. It was a powerful reminder of how meaningful consistency and trust can be in a child’s life.
