Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve provided childcare in my home since 2016 for children ages newborn to preschool. This included feeding, changing diapers, bathing, age appropriate learning activities, arts and crafts, daily walks around the neighborhood, running errands, doctors appointments and dentist appointments, and bringing my nanny child with me to my own children’s school functions, field trips (no longer permitted), parent teacher conferences, ARD meetings (I have a special needs child), and running my own household while caring for my nanny children 10+ hours a day

The most important part about being a nanny...
I have been fortunate to stay home with my children since my oldest was born. Part of the reason my husband and I decided I would stay home was because it was absolutely nerve racking trying to find care for my children that we could both trust and afford. You hear horror stories about daycares and childcare and then trying to find a higher quality center typically means astronomical expenses (which all childcare workers deserve a high wage in my opinion) but it really puts parents in a bind. Sacrifice your peace of mind to save money because you’re already stretched thin, or barely scrape by and still be a little wary of who you’re leaving your children with. I started nannying to help extended family with childcare costs and peace of mind because I knew what it was like trying to find care for my children that I felt confident about. Unfortunately with the consistent rise of the cost of living, I’m no longer able to provide care for my family as inexpensively as I was or in my home.
My experience with special needs children...
I have an autistic thirteen year old son. Although he is level one (what was once considered Asperger’s and/or high functioning) he has needed different forms of therapy for speech, fine motor skills, social skills, etc.. and we keep in constant contact with his schools, staff, and teachers to update his IEP, resources, etc..
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I see one of my former nanny children that I haven’t had in my care for a while and their face lights up and they run to hug me. Gets me every time.
