Throughout middle and high school, I provided 'date night' sitting for family around my neighborhood consistently. For 2 years I part time nannied a 6 and 9 year old Monday through Friday. I facilitated school pick up and drop off, light house keeping, homework help, and food preparation. I also worked events for the organization Only You, which provided support and hosted events for special needs families. I both help organize the events and worked with the children semi monthly for 6 years.
My experience with special needs children...
I assisted an organization in Connecticut called Only You, founded in memory of a close family friend. They hosted events and provided support for families with special needs children. Throughout my teen years I both helped organized and and run these events but worked with the children as well. Sadly the organization was moved down to Florida, but my favorite yearly event was the ginger bread house making party. I worked closely with the kids to build the houses and we would both always end up covered in frosting!
