I babysat for 5+ families this year, the most kids I’ve watched at a time were 3.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like watching movies or playing with the kids toys with them. I haven’t babysat for a parent yet that was ok with me and the kids going somewhere but I would love to take the kids out to a park or even a beach to get out and play!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is having compassion and patience. Kids require patience and time for us to nurture them, it’s not something you can rush. The more you pour into kids the more you’ll get out, and by putting your all into kids you’re taking care of our future because they ARE our future
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve had experience with some children that required special needs including some that were completely nonverbal and some that were progressing with their speech. My duties were different for each child of course but I’ve went from engaging in age appropriate activities to taking them to their appointments to light meal prepping and changing diapers.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would say when I was watching this one child and while sitting on the floor with them eating snacks and playing around they grabbed a small pole and started to pretend they were a cowboy on a horse. They were so into character it was funny and it made me laugh and feel good because this child takes a while to warm up to people and they’re progressing with their speech so to see them so happy and saying something I’ve never heard them say was very mind blowing. Every day this child surprised me and their family!
